Social justice means to fight for what we think is right, is how people are being treated, how we have to treat everyone with respect and be treated equally as others. Social justice is very common in modern society. If you have a different color skin or race people would start judging you. They create a bad vibe and look different at us. In my school they teach us social justice, how to come together and struggle like a family. For example, to build my school people had to fight and go on a hunger strike. It showed how everyone came together and different races were part of it and had no judgment at all. Everyday in class we are exposed to what is really going on around us and the injustices people are going through. For example, I remember talking in class about the injustice African Americans were going through, how police were brutally hitting them and killing them just because they were “black.” This really got my attention on how people were getting together to fight for this social justice. In our school we made everyone wear black to remember the people who died because of this. Social justice can be positive at times because it shows the real us and brings people together to create groups. For example, Black lives matter was a group made because of unjust acts and they came together to fight for the social justice of their people. The definition of social justice has changed a lot and seeing all this groups makes you think about what is the real definition of social justice.

There are many obstacles that stop us from achieving social justice. We can do everything we want but some people might not think the same as us. Not everyone cares about others and the struggles they going through. We live on a time where people just care about themselves, where they just want to be better than others by having things or money. For example, how in the world would people support Donald Trump when he is only bringing hate to immigrants and African americans? Having power could take you anywhere this is what's happening in today's society: you control your own justice. There's no way we can achieve social justice yet, it's a process that has to take a lot of time to change. Some people might have more power than others, so when the lower people try to do something they will easily get shut down by the people that are on top.
My vision of struggle is something you have to do in order for people to hear you, and get something done. In our community CPS didn’t want to build a school in Little Village, but members of our community got together and made this possible to build a school in Little Village. The just had to let them know and do something about it.They were able to organize a small group and go on a hunger strike, so they can be heard. They were able to fight for what they wanted, you just have to try and things would happen. My example could be teaching other people or students about injustices happening everywhere. If come together we can get our voices can be heard.

I’ve contributed to many social justice struggles, and it feels good knowing you making a change. For example my freshman year i was expecting to have fun and enjoy school without a problem. But in the 2nd day of school there was a sit in, I really didn't knew what was going on, but i inform myself and i decided to take part of it. Seniors were getting their classes taking away, and they organize a sit in where nobody went to class. After this our voices were heard and they got their classes back. For my Fire project i'm making a research paper about sweatshops, and everything connects to a social justice we live everyday. My project is basically about how people are being treated unfairly and working in poor conditions.
